Solar surges related to UV bursts

چکیده
Surges are cool and dense ejections typically observed in chromospheric lines closely related to other solar phenomena like UV bursts or coronal jets. Our aim is address the current lack of inverted models diagnostics surges as well characterizing their plasma properties. We have analyzed different with Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) on 2016 April. The mid- low-chromosphere examined by getting representative Mg II h&k line profiles through k-means algorithm performing inversions them using STiC code. studied far-UV spectra focusing O IV 1399.8 1401.2 \r{A} lines, carrying out density determine transition region properties these ejections. also used experiments performed Bifrost code for comparisons. Thanks k-means, we reduce number invert a factor 43.2. show that temperatures mainly around T $=6$ kK at $ -6.0 \le \log_{10}(\tau) -3.2$. For electronic density, $n_e$, line-of-sight velocity, $V_{\mathrm{LOS}}$, most reliable results from within -4.8$, $n_e$ ranging $\sim1.6 \times 10^{11}$ up $10^{12}$ cm$^{-3}$, $V_{\mathrm{LOS}}$ few km s$^{-1}$. find, first time, observational evidence enhanced emission surges, indicating considerable impact even weakest lines. emitting layers electron densities $2.5\times 10^{10}$ cm$^{-3}$. simulations provide theoretical support terms topology location surges.

EUV Jets and H Surges in Solar Micro
We analyzed simultaneous extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) data from the Transition Region and Coronal Explorer (TRACE) and H data from Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO). In the active region studied, we found several EUV jets which repeatedly occurred where pre-existing magnetic ux was \canceled" by newly emerging ux of opposite polarity. The jets look like Yohkoh soft X-ray jets, but are smaller and ...
متن کاملAstrophysical explosions: from solar flares to cosmic gamma-ray bursts.
Astrophysical explosions result from the release of magnetic, gravitational or thermonuclear energy on dynamical time scales, typically the sound-crossing time for the system. These explosions include solar and stellar flares, eruptive phenomena in accretion discs, thermonuclear combustion on the surfaces of white dwarfs and neutron stars, violent magnetic reconnection in neutron stars, thermon...

متن کاملFrom chaotic to 1/f processes in solar mcw-bursts
Solar bursts with superfine time structure observed at 2.5 and 2.85GHz at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory have been analyzed by means of statistical methods for nonlinear dynamical systems. Finite values of the correlation dimension have not been detected for all the studied events. The presence of a 1/f component in many of the processed events has been found by means of wavelet analysis...
متن کاملSolar Radio Bursts and Space Weather
Space Weather is the study of the conditions in the solar wind that can affect life on the surface of the Earth, particularly the increasingly technologically sophisticated devices that are part of modern life. Solar radio observations are relevant to such phenomena because they generally originate as events in the solar atmosphere, including flares, coronal mass ejections and shocks, that prod...
